Board & Staff

The Sugar House Farmers Market is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization organized and run by a Board of Directors and Volunteers. The market’s mission is “to create a family-friendly and educational local market, by providing fresh produce, delicious food and unique Utah products.  We strive to support the Sugar House community and come together through food and fun."  

The SHFM Board of Directors is responsible for the overall success of the organization by acting in accordance with our mission and values, and by supporting our  vendors and community.

AMY BUCHANAN

As a community builder at heart, and an advocate of supporting local, Amy feels right at home at the Sugar House Farmers Market.  She loves working with different outreach groups volunteering her time supporting a variety of organizations, which include music, dance, food and film. She can also play a mean piano.

 

RAMIRO “MELO” FLORES

Upon creating Compás Productions in 2003, Melo has held positions and co-created, film, video, and assisted live broadcast television and still photo projects, as a location scout, manager and field producer. As a producer he has been involved with a wide spectrum of media outlets in the greater Salt Lake area for over twenty years. Melo has truly enjoyed roles as a documentarian versed for both English and Spanish productions. His field producer background includes projects as a field producer and co-producer with Ghost Rider Pictures located in New Orleans, LA, CNN and Fox Business Report, ENG field work for American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, for the FOX network.

Presently, Melo resides in the Sugar House area. He is at home in the outdoors and enjoys road trip travels!

 
 
 

AMY STEINBRECH

Amy volunteers as a board member for the Sugar House Farmer’s Market where she lends her talents and experience in the public relations arena to help out with brand recognition and media relations.  Amy feels at home in the outdoors where she enjoys hiking, skiing or simply taking a stroll through the beautiful parks in Sugar House.
